Maria Angelidou-Smith moves from Meta to Personio

She is now responsible for the product, design and technology functions of the Munich-based HR start-up. This also means change for the founders.

Maria Angelidou-Smith is joining the Munich-based HR company Personio. In future, she will be responsible for "all product, design and technology functions" in the role of Chief Product and Technology Officer (CPTO) created especially for her, according to the company. Previously, Angelidou-Smith was responsible for areas such as Facebook Groups, Events and Dating as VP Product and General Manager of Communities at Meta.

With the appointment of the new CPTO, the roles of Roman Schumacher and Arseniy Vershinin, who co-founded the company in 2014, will also change. The latter will lead unspecified technology projects as Chief Architect. Schumacher will continue to sit on the Personio Board and, according to his own statements, will switch to a conceptual role in which he will initiate and implement company-wide initiatives.

Personio offers software that automates HR processes. The aim is to shift the focus of HR away from administration and towards the employees. Angelidou-Smith sees enormous growth potential in this approach. "I look forward to accompanying Personio through the upcoming chapter of continued rapid growth and scaling," she says.
