Maschmeyer secures 20 percent stake in nipple start-up

The investor acquired a fifth of the start-up Nippli on the show "Die Höhle der Löwen" - for just 90,000 euros. The start-up is set to become the "number one Nipplecover company".

Carsten Maschmeyer won the bid for 20 percent of Nippli in the second episode of the current 12th season of "Die Höhle der Löwen" (DHDL). Not only Maschmeyer, but all the lions wanted to invest in the start-up, and without any negotiations. This makes the appearance of founder Miriam Weilmünster an exception, as investor and lion Ralph Dümmel also explains during the broadcast.

The deal came about months ago, of course, when the recording for the current season of DHDL was being shot. At the time, Maschmeyer bought around 20 percent of the start-up for a mere 90,000 euros, beating out Judith Williams, among others, who is considered an expert in the field of beauty in the round.

The start-up Nippli has set itself the task of becoming the "number one nipple cover company". Specifically, the founder, who had already launched two start-ups before, wants to use Nippli to offer a nipple cover so that they do not leave marks in clothing. On Twitter, there were already critical voices that did not approve of the hiding of nipples. One user wrote: "Just when you think you've seen it all, "Generation Z and a Boomer" come along and invent pladtiknupsis so YOU CAN'T SEE OUR NIPS. I don't believe it at all."

At the same time, the founder is successful on social media right now. The criticism has apparently not deterred Maschmeyer from his investment. As the founder confirmed to Gründerszene , the deal had indeed come about and they were in regular communication.
