With its telemedicine platform, the start-up wants to help chronically ill patients. The concept convinced new investors.

Medkitdoc has raised seven million euros. The new investor Vorwerk Ventures led the seed financing round. Acton Capital also got in for the first time, and existing investors such as Picus Capital and Flixbus founders Jochen Engert and Daniel Krauss invested in the health start-up again.

Medkitdoc plans to use the capital to expand its software and grow its team. "We want to build a comprehensive remote care offering for chronically ill patients and provide 24/7 coverage with a nationwide network of doctors," says co-founder Dorian Koch of the Gründerszene. The company hopes its app can be recognized as a digital care app in the future.

The start-up, founded in 2020, is backed by a team of four. Benjamin Gutermann and Dorian Koch lead the company together with Patrick Bieg and Nicolai Nieder. Medkitdoc has developed a platform for remote medical treatments. Chronically ill patients in nursing homes can receive advice from doctors via video chat. The nursing home staff is provided with medical devices such as stethoscopes, infrared thermometers and blood pressure monitors, which transmit the data to the doctors via an app. This allows treatment without the need for a doctor's home visit.
