Billionaire joins Vantik

The last financing round for the fintech was two years ago. Now, Vantik was able to convince investors again - founder Til Klein, however, had to give up many shares.
Things didn't seem to be going so well at Berlin-based fintech Vantik, which offers a product for private retirement planning. The advertising costs for new customers were too high, and the Corona crisis was also causing Vantik problems, founder Til Klein announced. Most recently, Vantik launched a debit card to attract more customers, investing one percent of the value of each purchase into the fintech's savings plan. A few weeks ago, the Berlin-based startup also closed a new round of funding, as Gründerszene
found out. The amount is unclear, but known are the investors. For example, Austrian family office Custos, which is backed by Wolfgang Leitner, is leading the Series A round. The billionaire is chairman of the board and shareholder of mechanical engineering company Andritz. Paypal manager Matthias Setzer has also joined as a new investor. The existing investors around Atlantic Labs, STS Ventures and N26 co-founder Max Tayenthal have also injected money.
Founder Til Klein initially did not want to comment on the amount of the financing round to Gründerszene
. He did, however, have to give up a decent portion of his shares. His company shares have now shrunk from 37.5 percent to 17.1 percent, according to Gründerszene.
