The cannabis start-up intends to use the new capital to prepare for its expected legalization as a stimulant in Germany.

The Bloomwell Group has raised several million euros in a financing round. The round was led by Artemis Growth Partners, an American investment fund that specializes in cannabis companies. In addition to actor Moritz Bleibtreu, existing investor Measure 8 Venture Partners and a German family office are also investing in the cannabis company. The exact amount of the financing is not known.

Founded in 2020, the start-up acts as a holding company for medical cannabis companies. Bloomwell now wants to prepare for the expected legalization of cannabis as a stimulant in Germany. "Now that we have a fully funded company, the focus is exclusively on innovation and growth," says Niklas Kouparanis, co-founder and CEO of Bloomwell. The company intends to use the new capital to further expand its market share.

Actor and investor Moritz Bleibtreu wants to advocate for the destigmatization of cannabis in medicine. "The cannabis plant can help many people to lead a better life. We should therefore stop pigeonholing a plant based on decades of traditional prejudices," says Bleibtreu.
