Mowea launches crowdinvesting campaign

The spin-off of the Technical University of Berlin equips roofs, bridges and radio masts with small wind turbines. Now Mowea is courting small investors.

Mowea has launched a crowdinvesting round on the Econeers platform. Investors can participate in the wind energy start-up via qualified subordinated loans of at least 250 euros. Since the start of the campaign, more than 570,000 euros have already been raised. Currently, the Küchenberg family of entrepreneurs is leading the crowdinvesting - they participated in the start-up earlier.

Mowea started as a spin-off of the Technical University of Berlin and has developed small wind turbines that can be combined to form a large wind energy system. They can be attached to roofs and bridges, for example, making them suitable for supplying power to radio masts, industrial halls or real estate. Series production of the first 1,000 turbines is currently underway, with delivery scheduled for September.

The first major customers have already been found: At the beginning of this year, Vodafone subsidiary Vantage Towers commissioned the Berlin-based company to produce 752 wind turbines. Mowea is also already planning a project with the Austrian infrastructure company Asfinag.
