New venture capitalist promotes young start-ups

A new fund from SCE and Freiraum is aimed at young start-ups or teams with ideas. They will receive up to 50,000 euros.
Munich-based Freiraum Ventures and the Strascheg Center for Entrepreneurship (SCE) at Munich University of Applied Sciences are jointly endowing an investment fund. The early stage fund is intended to bridge the gap between training and financing teams. The fund is aimed at very young start-ups where traditional investors do not yet want to give money. "We see this early stage in particular as an opportunity to accelerate business models and promote growth through capital," Marcus Schlueter, investment manager at SCE Freiraum Ventures, told Munich-Startup.de.
Startups that have not yet founded can receive up to 30,000 euros for their ideas. Teams that can present solid and scalable ideas and have already founded can receive up to 50,000 euros in investment. Preference will be given to university-affiliated start-ups and founding teams. "In our own incubator, teams have the opportunity to prove their skills for six months," says Herbert Gillig, head of start-up promotion at SCE. "In the process, they are supervised and supported by experienced coaches." Teams can apply for the funding on the Freiraum Ventures website.
