HTGF and better ventures invest in nuuEnergy. The energy startup relies on its own trade locations and end-to-end processes for climate-friendly heating.

Munich, 12 June 2025 - Munich-based startup nuuEnergy, which specializes in the planning and installation of heat pumps, closed a seven-figure pre-seed financing round in spring 2025. The backers include High-Tech Gründerfonds (HTGF), the business angel club better ventures (including energy entrepreneur Marco Vogt), as well as EnjoyVenture, Vireo Ventures and Bynd.

The company intends to use the capital to set up further regional craft businesses and further expand its own digital processes for planning, installation and maintenance.

A new approach for a growth market

The heating revolution is in full swing: after more than 350,000 heat pumps were installed in 2023, the number is set to rise to 500,000 per year by 2030. However, despite the growing market, many builders and homeowners are struggling with an inefficient range of products: confusing costs, long waiting times and a lack of advice and quality are common hurdles, according to nuuEnergy.

This is precisely where the start-up, founded in 2023, comes in A hybrid business model that combines digital efficiency with the trust and expertise of local tradespeople is set to change the market.

Own regional businesses as an anchor of quality

nuuEnergy operates its own regional craftsmen's businesses, which are fully integrated into the company. This means that every customer has a dedicated contact person, from the initial consultation and planning through to installation and maintenance. At the same time, digital tools enable efficient processing of subsidies, precise dimensioning of the systems and coordinated process chains.

Our customers want someone on site who takes responsibility - and not an anonymous hotline. That's why we rely on excellently trained specialists who are optimally supported by our digital platform.

Craftsmanship at the heart

For Julia Rafschneider, co-founder and CRO of nuuEnergy, one thing is clear:"Our craftspeople are not subcontractors - they are an integral part of our company and make a significant contribution to quality. We provide them with the tools to carry out their work efficiently and to a high standard."

The model is popular: In addition to the location in Munich, a second company is already active in Hamburg and a third location is being planned.

Investors focus on quality and scaling

The investors see nuuEnergy as an important response to the structural challenges of the energy transition. For better ventures, one thing is clear:"nuuEnergy combines digital excellence with quality craftsmanship - which is exactly what the market needs now." HTGF also emphasizes that there is no comparable scalable solution for individual refurbishment at this level to date.

nuuEnergy now intends to use the new capital to grow further.
