PACT secures over 20 million US dollars in Series A financing

Cambridge-based PACT, a pioneer in materials innovation, has successfully raised over 20 million US dollars in a Series A financing round. The round is jointly led by Forbion and HV Capital, with existing investors also participating. The funds will be used to accelerate the commercial upscaling of Oval, a revolutionary roll-to-roll collagen material, and enable the expansion of the portfolio via a new pilot plant at the company's headquarters in Cambridge.

The pilot plant will enable the production of Oval in commercial quantities and support the expansion into fashion, luxury, interiors, footwear and automotive markets.

A new chapter in material development

Oval was born out of PACT's goal to develop natural, aesthetically pleasing materials that appeal emotionally to both designers and consumers. While many innovations in sustainable materials are mainly functionally oriented, Oval scores with superior tactile properties, softness and sensory depth.

Made from surplus cosmetic collagen, enriched with plant extracts and natural oils, Oval achieves the luxurious feel of premium leather and the versatility of high-performance synthetic materials. The patented process ensures traceability and compatibility with existing supply chains, enabling industrial scalability.

From Cambridge to global implementation

The Series A funding provides PACT with a 1,200+ square meter facility that combines laboratories and pilot production, anchoring growth in the globally recognized innovation hub of Cambridge. The pilot plant will enable roll-to-roll production of Oval in commercial quantities and the development of new material solutions for global partners.
