US investor Peter Thiel wants to earn money in Europe

125 million euros are to be raised for Christian Angermayer's Elevat3 fund. Peter Thiel will share in the profits.
Peter Thiel, co-founder of Paypal and initial investor in Facebook, is apparently benefiting more than previously thought from his investment in Christian Angermayer's Elevat3 fund. The fund is intended to support start-ups in the growth phase in particular and focuses on companies from German-speaking countries that want to establish themselves in the biotech, fintech, artificial intelligence or blockchain sectors, among others. The amount of money Thiel is giving to Elevat3 is not known. However, according to Angermayer, Thiel is more than just an investor or partner. He recently told CNBC : "(He is) more than an investor, he owns part of the GP (gross profit)".
20 million euros for Elevat3 have already come from Angermayer's Apeiron Investment Group, 80 million from external partners such as Peter Thiel. Thomas Hanke and Marlon Braumann will initially take over the operational business, each investing one million euros.
Peter Thiel joined the Elevat3 fund at the beginning of 2020, and he and Christian Angermayer have known each other for some time. The two big names in the start-up scene first met in 2011 and have worked together time and again. The two investors recently invested in the Berlin biotech start-up ATAI: Thiel invested 10 million euros, while Angermayer is involved through his Apeiron Investment Group.
Angermayer's Apeiron Investment Group has invested in more than 50 start-ups in the USA and Europe with numerous IPOs.
