Petsy partners with TU Europe and Petcover

The Polish startup Petsy now offers free insurance for all pet care services. Thanks to a new partnership with TU Europa and Petcover, there are no additional costs for customers.
Warsaw, July 16, 2024 - Polish startup Petsy, operating in the pet care sector in Poland, has announced a new partnership with Towarzystwo Ubezpieczeń Europa (TU Europa) and Petcover. Through this cooperation, Petsy now offers free insurance for all pet care services.
Pet sitter business model
Petsy was founded in 2020 and has since become the market leader in pet care. The platform connects pet owners with certified pet sitters and has seen a 200% increase in services in the last year alone. Over 30,000 active users now use the service, which is supported by almost 3,000 verified pet sitters.
Focus on free insurance
The new insurance covers costs for veterinary treatment in the event of accidents up to PLN 2,000, liability insurance for damage caused by dogs or cats during care up to PLN 10,000 and access to a veterinary hotline. The insurance costs are fully covered by Petsy, so there are no additional costs for customers.
The insurance for dogs and cats, which we offer in cooperation with TU Europa and Petcover, is automatically added free of charge to every service booked through Petsy. This is the first insurance of its kind in Poland.

According to Piotr Kunce, Partnership Relations Manager at TU Europa, less than 1% of pets in Poland are currently insured. "The cooperation with the largest petsitting service in Poland promises a lot. We hope that our business model will prove itself and that Petsy users will appreciate the benefits of the added insurance. This could lead to them considering more comprehensive cover."
Petsy plans to further expand its services and focus on international scaling in the coming months. Following its successful market entry in the Czech Republic, the company intends to strengthen its position there and tap into other European markets.
