Planetics expands pre-seed financing

The start-up from Munich has thus collected a total of a mid-six-figure sum. The final amount was not disclosed.

Almost half a year after announcing its first round of financing, the Munich-based start-up Planetics has now announced the expansion of its pre-seed round. In total, the young company has thus collected a mid-six-figure amount, the exact amount it did not disclose.

Founded in the fall of 2020 by Alexandros Taflanidis, Fabian Hörst and Raphael Breitner, the start-up is an online marketplace for sustainable sporting goods. In order to prove the sustainability of the products offered there, the start-up says it tests them intensively and publishes the value-added information In this way, the founders want to encourage the sports industry as a whole to become more sustainable.

One of the now new supporting business angels is Dietmar Kruse, ex-managing principal of Ebiquity. He invested in Planetics, he said, "because the concept serves two absolute megatrends with sustainability and sports/health and therefore holds great potential." Portfolio investor Bernd Geilen, former board member of the bank ING Diba, has invested again. "The growing product range, increasing sales and the dedicated team were decisive for a further investment."

Planetics says it cooperates with more than 100 partners from over 14 countries. With the money raised, the founding team plans to further expand its market presence and product offering. "For us, on the one hand, this is the result of focused and dedicated work, and on the other hand, it means we can continue to pursue our vision of changing the sports industry for good," says co-founder Hörst.
