With its software, the Cologne-based start-up wants to help companies offset and reduce their CO2 emissions. Now investors are getting on board.

Greentech Planted raises one million euros in its pre-seed financing round. The capital comes from Neoteq Ventures and Smart Infrastructure Ventures. Business angels Julius Göllner, Jochen Berger, Johannes Sass and Lucas von Fürstenberg are also investing in the start-up. VC Rivus Capital is also participating in the financing round.

Cindy Schüller, Wilhelm Hammes, Heinrich Rauh and Jan Borchert founded Greentech 2021. The founders have developed decarbonization software to help companies offset and reduce CO2 emissions. The average CO2 footprint of employees is calculated and then offset with a subscription model by investing in global climate protection projects. Planted also plants trees in Germany for every employee. The start-up now claims to have 100 customers.

The company intends to use the new capital to further develop its decarbonization software. "The funding will enable us to develop an innovative software solution that allows companies to decarbonize from the inside out," says co-founder Schüller. "Every employee should play an active role and take responsibility for a sustainable tomorrow."
