Producto takes over Codecheck app

The app is designed to help users consume more sustainably and consciously.

Producto, the company behind the comparison portal Testberichte.de, has taken over the Codecheck app. The app for sustainable consumption will be continued in future by the newly founded subsidiary Producto Check. Tobias Weishaupt, Head of Business Development at Testberichte.de, will become Managing Director of the company. The existing Codecheck employees will be able to continue working at the new company, and some Testberichte.de employees will also transfer to the new subsidiary.

"We have 20 years of experience in evaluating and comparing products, which is why Codecheck is a perfect fit for us," says Producto Managing Director Ina Zitzmann. "We are thus expanding our range of services for conscious product selection in a meaningful way and are now increasingly targeting customers who are interested in healthy and sustainable products in addition to quality-conscious consumers." The Codecheck app was developed by a Zurich-based company of the same name. Users can use the search function or scan the barcode to find out which ingredients are contained in a product and how sustainable they are.

Producto Check plans to release an update for the app soon. In future, there will be more up-to-date content. Weishaupt is also planning to improve the user experience, for example by offering better alternative suggestions when searching for products. The website is also set to improve.
