Quantum Systems receives €150 million in financing

The drone and aerial reconnaissance company Quantum Systems has secured a €150 million financing package. The European Investment Bank (EIB) and the European commercial banks Commerzbank, Deutsche Bank and KfW are involved. The funds are intended to support the company's further growth and the expansion of industrial capacities in Europe.

Strengthening European technology and security expertise

The financing underlines the increasing political and economic will to develop and scale security-related innovations with European capital. The background to this is an adapted ESG framework that makes it easier to invest in safety-critical technologies. The aim is to secure Europe's technological resilience and strategic sovereignty in the long term.

EIB further expands its commitment

The EIB is providing a €70 million loan as part of the transaction. This is the Bank's second financing for Quantum Systems, having first supported the company with €10 million in June 2021. Together with the credit lines of the commercial banks involved, the total volume of long-term debt financing amounts to €150 million.

Capital for technology, production and organization

Quantum Systems plans to invest the funds in the further development of its technologies, the expansion of industrial production and in organizational growth. The company is thus further positioning itself as a European provider of unmanned aerial systems for safety-critical applications - from infrastructure monitoring to defense and reconnaissance scenarios.

Signal for financing security-relevant innovations in Europe

The financial institutions involved see the transaction as an example of how public and private capital can work together to strengthen key European technologies.
