Quantum Systems secures 160 million euros in Series C funding

Munich, May 6, 2025 - Munich-based defense tech Quantum Systems has closed a Series C financing round of 160 million euros. The provider of AI-supported reconnaissance systems intends to further expand its position as European market leader and scale its systems worldwide.

The round was led by Balderton Capital, with participation from Airbus Defense and Space, Hensoldt, Bullhound Capital, LP&E AG and existing investors such as Porsche SE, Peter Thiel, HV Capital, Project A, Notion, Omnes Capital and DTCP. This brings the total capital raised to 310 million euros.

Focus on AI, autonomy and series production

The company plans to invest the funds in the further development of its software and AI functions as well as the expansion of series production. The eVTOL drone platform Vector AI is already in use in conflict regions such as Ukraine and impresses with its autonomous reconnaissance capabilities even without GPS or communication coverage.

As the current conflicts show, Europe's security will depend on networked, interoperable and cross-domain defense solutions - as well as the ability to develop war-fighting capabilities at the necessary speed.

Expansion into Asia and the UK - acquisitions strengthen position

Following the acquisition of AirRobot and Nordic Unmanned UK, Quantum Systems is now also listed as a Tier 1 supplier to the UK Ministry of Defense. The expansion into European and Asia-Pacific markets is based on annual sales growth of over 100%.

Dual-use platform with civil and military relevance

In addition to defense and public security, the reconnaissance systems are also used in sectors such as agriculture, mining and infrastructure. Customers include the Indian Ministry of Science and Technology and RocketDNA.
