Record year for Babbel in the USA

The B2B offering Babbel for Business in particular is driving the figures on the North American market. The company sold one million subscriptions there in the first half of the year.
Babbel, the world's best-selling language learning platform, sold more than one million subscriptions in the U.S. market in the first half of 2022 alone. "In recent years, the way we learn has changed," said Arne Schepker, Babbel CEO. "Our U.S. users:in particular show a continued desire to learn languages online, whether as a primary learning method or in addition to classroom instruction."
The launch of Babbel for Business comes on the heels of two events for the company in Europe, where the product topped €1 million in sales for the first time in both May and June. Babbel for Business, one of Babbel's key growth drivers, is aimed at mid-sized businesses and offers a language learning solution that allows customers to train their employees both through the app and in live virtual courses. More than 1,000 companies now use Babbel for Business, according to Babbel. A team focused on the U.S. has been built under the leadership of Meredith Silver, Babbel's director of B2B sales North America.
"Building on the success of our offering in European markets and the overall trends in language learning, I very much see rapid growth for Babbel for Business in the U.S.," Silver said.
Babbel was founded in Berlin in 2007 and then expanded to the U.S. in 2015.
