Record year for Babbel in the USA

The B2B offering Babbel for Business in particular is driving the figures on the North American market. The company sold one million subscriptions there in the first half of the year.

Babbel, the world's best-selling language learning platform, sold more than one million subscriptions in the US market in the first half of 2022 alone. "In recent years, the way we learn has changed," says Arne Schepker, Babbel CEO. "Our US users in particular show a continued desire to learn languages online, whether as a primary learning method or in addition to classroom instruction."

The launch of Babbel for Business follows two events for the company in Europe, where the product achieved sales of over €1 million for the first time in both May and June. Babbel for Business, one of Babbel's key growth drivers, is aimed at SMEs and offers a language learning solution that allows customers to train their employees both via the app and in live virtual classes. According to Babbel, more than 1,000 companies are now using Babbel for Business. Under the leadership of Meredith Silver, Babbel's Director of B2B Sales North America, a team has been set up with a focus on the USA.

"Building on the success of our offering in the European markets and the overall trends in language learning, I am very excited to see rapid growth for Babbel for Business in the U.S.," said Silver.

Babbel was founded in Berlin in 2007 and then expanded to the US in 2015.
