RobCo receives funding from AWS, NVIDIA and MassRobotics

Physical AI Fellowship. Why RobCo now has access to top technologies and global networks.
News by Marc Nemitz Marc Nemitz · München, 24. September 2025

The Munich-based robotics start-up RobCo will be part of the first cohort of the Physical AI Fellowship, a new funding program launched by Amazon Web Services (AWS), NVIDIA and MassRobotics. The aim is to support start-ups that develop intelligent systems for use in the real world. In addition to comprehensive technology and market consulting, the program offers access to a global robotics network as well as software and hardware resources.

Focus on adaptable robots

The funding brings RobCo closer to its goal of developing the next generation of modular, intelligent robots for manufacturing. The vision is autonomous manufacturing agents that can perceive, learn, adapt and act independently without manual programming. In the short term, the focus is on applications where adaptability is crucial. This includes the handling of textiles, bin picking and assembly.

We want to automate the ordinary so that people can do the extraordinary. Reshoring initiatives and labor shortages are accelerating automation, and the combination of physical technology and AI opens up entirely new possibilities.

Access to key technologies

The grant will give RobCo access to AWS cloud credits and expertise, NVIDIA's hardware and software stacks, and MassRobotics' testing environment. The expansion of simulation and reinforcement learning pipelines are particularly important to create scalable solutions for complex industrial automation use cases. This opens up new opportunities, especially for industries that have so far hardly relied on robotics due to their high complexity.

Benefits of the fellowship

The Physical AI Fellowship includes, among other things:

  • $200,000 in AWS credits and guidance from the Generative AI Innovation Center (GenAIIC).
  • Access to NVIDIA platforms such as Isaac (robotics development platform) and Cosmos (World Foundation Models & Data Pipelines) as well as discounts on hardware and training.
  • Integration into the MassRobotics ecosystem.
  • Presentation opportunities at AWS, NVIDIA and MassRobotics events, including AWS re:Invent 2025.

About RobCo

RobCo was founded in 2020 at the Technical University of Munich and develops modular robot kits combined with the no-code software platform RobCo Studio. This enables companies of all sizes to automate repetitive and high-risk tasks quickly and cost-effectively. With offices in Munich and San Francisco and customers worldwide, RobCo is positioning itself as a provider of flexible and affordable industrial automation for the next generation. We have been reporting on the startup since 2021.
