Munich, October 16, 2023 - Munich-based ed-tech startup Rocket Tutor has successfully raised an investment of one million euros from better ventures, Caesar Ventures and other investors. Rocket Tutor uses artificial intelligence to make personalized math learning accessible and affordable for students in Germany.

We use AI and data-driven techniques to support personalized learning.

Yue Wu, co-founder of Rocket Tutor

The founders of Rocket Tutor, Yue Wu, Lionel Rühlemann and Komaldeep Chahal, have set themselves the goal of using AI to make education accessible to all students. Their approach has achieved promising results in a pilot project with 10,000 pupils in Bavaria and North Rhine-Westphalia. 71% of users confirmed that the platform had helped them and a grade improvement of 0.86 (on a scale of 0-15) was recorded for every 10% learning progress.

In many schools, teachers lack the resources to provide individualized attention in overcrowded classrooms, while private tutoring is often costly. Rocket Tutor offers free services for all students, with a competitively priced premium account option that provides additional features. Rocket Tutor has worked with teachers, schools and tutors from the beginning and has already received recognition from teachers.

We see AI and technology as tools to make education better, more accessible and more efficient.

Lionel Rühlemann, co-founder of Rocket Tutor

Currently, the platform is available for students in grades 11, 12 and 13 in Bavaria and North Rhine-Westphalia and focuses on the subject of mathematics. By the end of 2024, Rocket Tutor plans to expand the platform to the whole of Germany and cover grades 8-13. Expansion to other subjects, particularly in STEM subjects, is planned for the future. This expansion is made possible by a €1 million financing round led by Caesar Ventures and supported by business angels, including the angel network of better ventures.
