Second-hand start-up Rebelle plans IPO in Sweden

The Hamburg-based start-up chooses the Stockholm Stock Exchange because of its sustainability-oriented market environment.

Second-hand start-up Rebelle is said to be planning its IPO in Sweden for Feb. 25, as Gründerszene reported. To do so, the startup has established a Swedish holding company, Rebelle AB. The founders decided to go public in a Nordic country because the market environment there is better for sustainability-oriented companies, they said.

According to Gründerszene , the shares will be issued at a fixed price of 2.64 euros, which would correspond to a total market value of the shares of around 40 million euros before the IPO. The company plans to use the proceeds from the IPO to drive its expansion course into Italy, the Netherlands and Scandinavian countries.

Cécile Wickmann and Max Schönemann founded the online platform in 2013. The founders offer a digital marketplace where customers can buy or sell used designer fashion. An in-house team of experts checks every single designer piece for authenticity and quality. According to its own information, the company sends hundreds of packages to over 40 different countries every day. The start-up is based in Hamburg and employs 90 people there.
