Thomas Lassmann becomes CTO of Xpay

The business IT specialist comes from the VW subsidiary Weshare. At Xpay, he is immediately given a wealth of specific tasks.

Munich-based fintech Xpay has hired Thomas Lassmann as Chief Technology Officer (CTO). The business informatics specialist most recently developed technical innovations in the car-sharing model at VW subsidiary Weshare and implemented cloud services and AI solutions.

At Xpay, Lassmann will now help with the introduction of so-called "Domain Driven Design", an approach to software development, and the OKR management system, among other things. The so-called Objectives and Key Results is intended to ensure better goal setting and higher growth. Google and Amazon, among others, have relied on it. Lassmann is also expected to improve the corporate culture.

With the computer scientist, Xpay wants to become "a leading player in embedded finance," the company says in a statement. Through payment solutions, it wants to be both a fintech and marketing service provider. Xpay offers debit credit cards and matching data analytics right along with them. Companies receive free Mastercard cards with their own branding from Xpay. In turn, they can pass these on to their customers as a bonus program. At the same time, the companies receive offers such as an Internet site with a card store or their own online banking.
