Will Getir take over Gorillas?

The Turkish delivery service could take over the majority of its loss-making Berlin competitor. However, the deal is far from being finalized.
The food delivery service Gorillas is reportedly on the verge of being taken over. Turkish competitor Getir is said to want to swallow up the Berlin start-up in the near future, according to reports including Bloomberg reports.
The matter has not yet been decided. Getir is said to want to use both cash and shares for the purchase. For the Turks, the deal would be a path to supremacy in important markets such as Germany and the UK.
Gorillas has recently been repeatedly linked to possible takeovers and mergers. Back in June, it was reported that the company was negotiating with Gopuff and Jokr, among others. The main reason for the efforts then, as now, was probably the difficult business situation. According to media reports, Gorillas was losing up to 80 million US dollars a month in some cases.
Gorillas initially did not comment on the reports. Getir is also keeping a low profile and did not want to confirm or deny the talks to Bloomberg.
