Vectornator raises 20 million US dollars

The graphics app has only been around for five years, but today its customers include companies such as Apple and Google. The Berlin-based company has now been able to convince investors once again.
Vectornator's founder and developer Vladimir Danila was ten years old when he had the idea for the graphics app, which is part of the start-up Linearity. Vectornator has now received 20 million US dollars. The main investors are Eqt Ventures and 468 Capital. Business angels from Silicon Valley such as Bradley Horowitz, Jonathan Rochelle and Lutz Finger, who all work at Google, are also involved, as is Charles Songhurst, who works at Microsoft and is co-founder of a hedge fund.
"For me, there were two arguments for joining forces with the Linearity team. Vladimir is a very focused founder who has developed an excellent product. And design tools are some of the most difficult tools to build, but Vladimir and his team have shown that anything is possible," says Eqt Ventures partner Ted Persson about the investment.
The money will be used to enable new features at Vectornator. The first version of the graphics app was available five years ago and, according to the company, there have been five million downloads worldwide since then. Originally based in Danila's home town of Hilden near Düsseldorf, the start-up has since moved to Berlin and is looking for new employees to continue developing Vectornator.
