VfL Wolfsburg joins Flow Lab

The soccer club becomes a strategic partner of the app. The Berlin-based start-up also receives one million euros from a financing round.
The Bundesliga soccer club VfL Wolfsburg is joining the mental fitness app Flow Lab as an investor. In addition, the existing investors and business angels, together with the new investor from Wolfsburg and IBB Ventures, are providing a total of one million euros in a financing round. Previous investors include VC APX, an early-stage investor from Axel Springer and Porsche.
Flow Lab is an app designed to increase mental and emotional fitness. Users can work on dealing with stress in audio training sessions. "With Flow Lab, we are launching our 'We StartUp' investment program at VfL Wolfsburg," says Head of Corporate Development Juppi Lee. "The young start-up is an ideal fit for us because, as a Bundesliga soccer club, we know exactly how important emotional and mental fitness is for optimal performance and increased productivity."
The aim of the Berliners is to make mental fitness just as important to society as physical fitness. Flow Lab hopes that its cooperation with VfL will convince a target group with an affinity for sport of the benefits of its products and win them over as customers.
