The company is thus acquiring a start-up from the continuing education sector with retroactive effect from January 2022.

According to the WBS Group, it is buying the start-up Punk Incorporated GmbH in its entirety, with retroactive effect from January 2022. The provider of training services is thus looking to expand its e-learning offering. With the takeover, founder Dominic von Proeck is handing over the management of the start-up.

von Proeck founded the start-up in 2016 and has since worked with companies such as Allianz, Ikea and Siemens. Specifically, the start-up offers a training and learning concept for specialists and managers that, according to its own information, is based on artificial intelligence (AI). The training courses will focus on leadership and complex problem solving, among other things.

At training provider WBS, they see the acquisition as an opportunity to buy in innovation that may not have been available in-house before. "As a medium-sized company, we benefit from the innovative strength of the start-up Punk, particularly in the AI-supported scaling and personalization of learning content. We will use the improved learning experience for new products under the Punk by WBS brand," says Joachim Giese, CEO of the WBS Group.
