Motorhome portal Paulcamper sold for 31 million euros

Listed Australian competitor Camplify acquires the Berlin-based startup.
Listed Australian camping portal Camplify has bought Berlin-based startup Paulcamper for 31 million euros, reports Gründerszene.
On Paulcamper, private individuals can rent caravans and camping buses. The corona pandemic triggered a boom in the camping market. For the Berlin founders, apparently a profitable time for the exit.
The new owner Camplify will pay out part of the 31 million euros in shares, according to Gründerszene. In addition, shareholders of the Australian portal are to invest another 5.5 million euros in the German company.
Berlin-based Dirk Fehse founded Paulcamper back in 2013. Over the years, various investors got into the start-up, including media companies Russmedia and Mairdumont, Norwegian classifieds portal Adevinta, New York-based investor FJ Labs and Spanish VC All Iron Ventures. In total, Paulcamper raised more than eleven million euros in various financing rounds, according to Gründerszene more than eleven million euros.
