Workgenius takes over US personnel service provider JBC

The Hamburg-based start-up aims to become the largest freelancer platform in Germany with the help of this acquisition.
The Hamburg-based freelancer platform Workgenius is taking over the US personnel service provider JBC. With the acquisition, Workgenius claims to have a total of more than 250 employees who are expected to generate a total annual turnover of 100 million US dollars.
"Through our new partnership with JBC, we are expanding our unique network of talent and further developing our AI-based matching," says Marlon Rosenzweig, the new CEO of New York City-based Workgenius Holdings. With the strength of both teams, they would support employers in meeting the challenges of the labor market.
Rosenzweig founded the start-up together with Daniel Barke in 2011. The platform developed is designed to help employers find suitable independent talent for their projects. "The high fluctuation and increasing demand for freelancers is presenting more and more companies with major challenges, as recruiting processes are usually time-consuming and non-transparent," says Rosenzweig. The start-up's automated and AI-based platform aims to simplify these processes. According to the company, its customers include well-known companies such as Bosch, Red Bull and Unilever.
