Workgenius acquires US staffing services provider JBC

With the help of this acquisition, the Hamburg-based start-up aims to become the largest freelancer platform in Germany.

The Hamburg-based freelancer platform Workgenius is taking over the US staffing services provider JBC. With the acquisition, Workgenius says it will have a total of more than 250 employees, generating a combined annual revenue of $100 million.

"Through our new partnership with JBC, we are expanding our unique network of talent and further developing our AI-based matching," said Marlon Rosenzweig, the new CEO of New York City-based Workgenius Holdings. With the power of both teams, they would help employers meet labor market challenges.

Rosenzweig co-founded the startup with Daniel Barke in 2011. The platform they developed is designed to help employers find suitable independent talent for their projects. "The high turnover and increasing demand for freelancers is posing major challenges for more and more companies, as recruiting processes are usually time-consuming and non-transparent," says Rosenzweig. The startup's automated and AI-based platform aims to simplify these processes. According to the company's own information, well-known companies such as Bosch, Red Bull and Unilever are among its customers.
