Pixel Photonics GmbH, ein führendes deutsches Nanophotonik-Start-up, wurde 2021 als Spin-off der WWU Münster gegründet. Das Unternehmen hat sich zum Ziel gesetzt, hochskalierbare Einzelphotonendetektoren zu kommerzialisieren. Die Anwendungen reichen von optischem Quantencomputing bis hin zu Metrologie und Sensorik. Pixel Photonics hat neben einer EXIST-Förderung Unterstützung von Quantonation, HTGF und dem Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung (BMBF) erhalten.
