Online supermarket Knuspr expands to Frankfurt

From November, the start-up also wants to deliver food in Frankfurt. The first location will be Munich.
Knuspr has announced its second location: In addition to Munich, the start-up also wants to deliver groceries in Frankfurt am Main. The company has rented a 7,000 square meter logistics center in Bischofsheim for this purpose. Conversion work will begin in the summer and the first food deliveries are scheduled to start in November.
Knuspr is a planned grocery delivery service from Czech Tomáš Čupr, who founded the start-up Rohlik in 2014. Last year, the online supermarket had a turnover of 300 million euros. Rohlik is active in the Czech Republic, Hungary and, since the end of 2020, also in Austria. The first German location, Munich, is set to follow this quarter. "Unlike other e-food providers, our service is not just available for selected districts in the city center," says Erich Comor, CEO of Knuspr. "Knuspr supplies the whole of Munich or Frankfurt and the surrounding area from day one with everything our range has to offer." The start-up promises deliveries within three hours, with free shipping for orders over 69 euros. According to Knuspr, it sources more than 95% of its full range directly from producers and farmers and not from wholesalers or middlemen.
Further cities in Germany are to follow in the coming year. Stuttgart, Hamburg and Cologne are listed on the website. 200 employees in Munich and Frankfurt will be working for Knuspr by the end of the year. At the beginning of March, the Czech Rohlik Group raised 190 million euros in investment to drive forward its European expansion.
