The Managing Director oversaw the growth of the start-up from its foundation in 2016 to its exit. Now he has announced his departure.

Flaschenpost Managing Director Stephen Weich has announced his departure. "After more than five years, I have decided to leave Flaschenpost at the turn of the year in order to take more time for private matters and to take on new professional challenges in the future," Weich wrote on Monday on Linkedin. According to information from RP Online CEO Niklas Plath and Head of Marketing Christopher Huesmann will take over the management of the start-up in future.

Weich initially worked as Head of Finance for Flaschenpost from 2016. During this time, he completed a doctorate in accounting and auditing at the Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität in Münster. He has been the sole Managing Director of the start-up since 2019, when founder Dieter Büchl moved to the Supervisory Board. During Weich's time at Flaschenpost, the start-up grew rapidly. In November, the Oetker Group bought the start-up and presumably paid around one billion euros for it. According to its own information, Flaschenpost is now represented in 190 German cities and employs more than 14,000 logistics specialists.
