Parcel concierge collects capital

The company was able to win company builder Xpress Ventures for its pre-seed financing. Paketconcierge plans to use the money to hire new employees.

Berlin-based startup Paketconcierge has built a platform for receiving parcels. As part of its pree-seed financing, the company was able to attract company builder Xpress Ventures. Together with other business angels, Paketconcierge has thus already secured funding of one million euros. The start-up wants to use the money to expand its team.

Above all, the start-up wants to solve one problem: Many customers are reluctant to use pick-up points such as parcel stores. These often only specialize in one shipping service provider. This causes frustration, for example, when people receive parcels from several suppliers distributed among different parcel stores. Paketconcierge now offers so-called pick-up points for parcels. These are to accept shipments from all shipping service providers and online stores. The offer is free of charge for recipients. Meanwhile, the shipping service providers are expected to benefit from more efficient parcel delivery. The carbon footprint of parcel shipping is also expected to improve significantly as a result of the system.

"With very high customer satisfaction and already over 15,000 parcels delivered in 2021, we have proven that people will accept deliveries to parcel stores if it's convenient enough for them," says Michael Debuschewitz. He founded the start-up together with Gregor Herdmann in 2020. A pilot project is currently underway: the start-up is represented at around 30 locations in Berlin together with several shipping service providers.
