The Platform Group buys ApoNow

The acquisition is already the third this year. The Platform Group now has a stake in 14 platforms.

The e-commerce company The Platform Group has acquired a majority stake in the online pharmacy ApoNow. The purchase price has not been publicly disclosed. Founded in 2014, the company operates the Doc.Green store, which is connected to 18,500 pharmacies that process customers' orders and either deliver them on the same day or reserve them in-store. The online store only sells non-prescription and over-the-counter medicines and products. "More and more people are ordering online and receiving same-day delivery through us," says ApoNow CEO Thomas Engels. "This year and next, we will significantly accelerate growth and introduce new tools for pharmacies."

The Platform Group operates and buys online stores, now 14 platforms in 13 sectors. 3,700 partners are connected via the Wiesbaden-based company's stores. The Platform Group has more than 300 employees at ten European locations. "With ApoNow, we have succeeded in entering the pharmacy segment," says Jürgen Hanke, Head of Retailer Support at The Platform Group. "We will actively promote new software solutions here and the topic of e-prescriptions is essential." Doc.Green will be relaunched at the end of the year. The new owners promise that the website will then also offer new functions for pharmacies.

The Platform Group is currently in a buying frenzy. This year, the Wiesbaden-based company has already bought the car parts retailer Lott for a single-digit million amount and the start-up Möbelfirst from Bonn.
