The Platform Group buys ApoNow

The buyout is already the third this year. The Platform Group now has stakes in 14 platforms.

The e-commerce company The Platform Group has acquired a majority stake in the online pharmacy ApoNow. Nothing is being publicly communicated about a purchase price. The company, founded in 2014, operates the shop Doc.Green, to which 18,500 pharmacies are connected, which process the orders of customers and either deliver the same day or reserve them in the store. The online store features only over-the-counter and non-prescription medications and products. "More and more people are ordering online and getting Same Day delivery through us," says ApoNow CEO Thomas Engels. "For this year and next, we'll be pushing growth significantly and introducing new tools for pharmacies."

The Platform Group operates and buys online stores, now 14 platforms across 13 industries. 3,700 partners are connected via the shops of the Wiesbaden-based company. The Platform Group has more than 300 employees at ten European locations. "With ApoNow, we have succeeded in entering the pharmacy segment," says Jürgen Hanke, Head of Dealer Support at The Platform Group. "We will actively promote new software solutions here and the topic of e-prescription is essential." Doc.Green is to be relaunched at the end of the year. Then the website will also offer new functions for pharmacies, the new owners promise.

The Platform Group is currently in a buying frenzy. This year, the Wiesbaden-based company has already bought the car parts dealer Lott for a single-digit million sum and the start-up Möbelfirst from Bonn.
