BMW i Ventures leads the Series A financing round of the software start-up. The company now wants to expand and hire more staff.

The software start-up Ampeco has raised 13 million euros in its Series A financing round. This was led by BMW i Ventures, the venture capital arm of the Bavarian car manufacturer. Ampeco intends to use the capital to recruit more staff for its development and sales departments. In addition, expansion is to be driven forward, primarily in North America, but also in Germany, France and the UK.

Ampeco's software is used to operate large charging networks for electric cars. According to the start-up, its offering is manufacturer-independent and the solutions can be easily integrated into existing offerings. Amepco is currently represented in 45 countries and the company's customers operate around 62,000 charging points.

"Ampeco's independent and comprehensive software solution enables customers worldwide to quickly set up and expand their own charging networks for electric vehicles," says Baris Guzel, Partner at BMW i Ventures: "We are convinced that the team has the potential to be a leader in this field and we are very pleased to support this development."
