13 million euros for Ampeco

BMW i Ventures leads Series A funding round for software startup. The company now wants to expand and hire more staff.

Software start-up Ampeco has raised 13 million euros in its Series A financing round. This is led by BMW i Ventures, the venture capital arm of the Bavarian carmaker. Ampeco plans to use the capital to recruit more staff for its development and sales departments. It also aims to drive expansion, primarily in North America, but also in Germany, France and the UK.

Ampeco's software is used to operate large charging networks for e-cars. According to the start-up, its offering works independently of manufacturers, and the solutions can also be easily integrated into existing offerings. Amepco is present in 45 countries so far, and the company's customers operate around 62,000 charging points.
