Alexa von Bismarck rises to become Adyen's head of Europe

To date, she has been in charge of the company's German business. She will be replaced by Hella Fuhrmann as Head of Germany, who previously headed up the account management team.

Alexa von Bismarck has clearly proven herself as Head of Germany at the Dutch payment service provider Adyen: The manager is moving up and will be in charge of Adyen's entire business in Africa, Europe and the Middle East in future, the company announced.

Von Bismarck joined Adyen in 2013. She had previously worked as Senior Sales Manager at the London-based payment service provider Skrill. "I am very excited about the opportunity and challenge of now managing Adyen's business on two continents and driving our growth internationally," she said.

Von Bismarck's successor as Head of Germany will be Hella Fuhrmann. She has been with the company since 2018 and most recently headed up the account management team. Before joining Adyen, she had worked at competitor Worldpay and hotel company Marriott International.

Fuhrmann has nothing but praise for her predecessor: "Alexa has done a great job over the last few years and I am delighted to be taking over the baton from her," she says. "We have built a strong team in Berlin and Munich with which we want to continue to grow."

Adyen is growing rapidly and generated annual net sales of one billion euros in 2021. The company offers merchants, especially in e-commerce, a platform that processes all payment methods such as Visa, Mastercard, Paypal or purchase on account from a single source. The company has locations throughout Europe, including in Berlin and Munich.
