Auditstage receives 750,000 euros pre-seed investment

Using AI to combat frustration in auditing. Auditstage wants to change the way external audits are handled.

Brussels, May 27, 2025 - The Belgian startup Auditstage has raised 750,000 euros in a pre-seed financing round. The round is led by European VC Smartfin, whose co-founder Jürgen Ingels will also sit on the company's Board of Directors in the future. Auditstage is developing an AI-supported platform that aims to radically simplify and modernize the process of external financial audits.

Vision with practical relevance

Auditstage 2024 was founded by certified auditor Natalia Khamraeva, who has over ten years of experience at the Big 4. Her motivation: frustration with outdated workflows, tool chaos and time-consuming manual tasks in the auditing process. The solution: an integrated, collaborative platform that is "AI native" and automates tedious routine tasks. This should include everything from confirmations to data preparation.

Launch planned for fall 2025

The platform is currently in a pilot phase with selected Belgian audit firms. Auditstage intends to use the fresh capital to further develop its product, expand the founding team and prepare for the public launch in fall 2025 and the broader rollout in 2026.

Strategic investment with growth potential

Smartfin sees enormous disruption potential for the audit sector in Auditstage. "What has automated accounting is now rolling out to auditing - an area with real pain points," says Jürgen Ingels. "With Natalia at the helm, we see an opportunity to redefine AuditTech."
