The young company comes from the in-house incubator Chemovator. BASF Venture Capital continues to hold a minority stake.

Boxlab Services is the name of the first spin-off from BASF's so-called "Chemovator". With this program, the chemical company wants to promote promising ideas of its own employees that initially have little to do with the core business. According to the company, BASF employees receive money, free space and support from external start-up experts for this purpose.

Boxlab Services is now the first start-up to spin out of the program. Founders Mischa Feig and Lisa Raschke have designed an app that helps people quickly replace damaged packaging and the labels that go with it.

If cardboard boxes or labels are damaged, customers should be able to report it via app. Boxlab Services will then deliver a new label or even custom labeled cardboard within 24 hours. They have specialized in highly specialized industries. The product has already been used in the Chemovator and is said to have given BASF customers a clear advantage.

This is also said to include advising customers. So far, 70 warehouses from ten different countries are among the customers of the start-up from Ludwigshafen. The chemical company intends to continue to hold a minority stake through its investment arm BASF Venture Capital.
