Clark buys the Finance Group

The deal gives Clark unicorn status. Allianz X becomes the largest minority shareholder.

Clark has taken over the Finanzen Group from Allianz X and has become a unicorn. For the purchase, the Frankfurt-based insurtech raised capital from its existing investors such as White Star Capital, Tencent and Yabeo. Allianz X also acquired shares in Clark as part of the takeover, making it the largest minority shareholder.

The Finanzen Group's information platform on insurance and financial products is now to be integrated into Clark's offering. In future, users will be supported from the search for information to the selection of a tariff.

"Our goal is to become the largest insurance broker in Europe - to achieve this, we will bring Clark to other European markets in the near future. With the finanzen Group's motivated team and its established presence in five European markets, we are perfectly positioned for this," says Clark Managing Director and co-founder Christopher Oster. The finanzen Group operates in Germany, France, the UK, the Netherlands and Switzerland.

Clark was founded in Frankfurt in 2015 by Christopher Oster, Steffen Glomb, Marco Adelt and Chris Lodde. The insurtech offers an insurance manager that allows users to manage and compare their insurance policies. In addition to three locations in Germany, Clark is also represented in Vienna.
