Cleverly receives three million euros

Cleverly's online tutoring service has only been around since this summer, but the Berlin-based company has already completed its second round of financing: The start-up has now raised three million euros.

In May, the company raised around one million euros, and now it's raising more: Online tutoring start-up Cleverly receives three million euros in its seed funding round. Capnamic Ventures is leading the round, and business angels such as Verena Pausder, Daniel Sobhani and the founders of Flixbus are also involved. The money will be used to expand the service.

"We see enormous potential in cleverly," says Jörg Binnenbrücker from Capnamic Ventures, explaining, "cleverly relies on live learning instead of ready-made content and offers the possibility to cater to each child individually. We are convinced that cleverly's approach is the future of tutoring - individual, holistic and digital."

Cleverly's services include teaching expertise through tutors, but also offers help through mentors. "We work with students:inside to identify and fix learning problems, build resilience in the face of learning stress, gain new impetus for personal development and challenge entrenched beliefs," explains founder Fredrik Harkort. Cleverly's offering went live this summer, Harkort and Björn Jopen had founded the company at the end of last year. Both have founded before.

In May, Cleverly co-initiated the Initiative of German Digital Education Providers (iddb). It is a virtual round table between politicians and other providers of digital solutions for students to discuss the learning gaps and challenges caused by the Corona pandemic and to find solutions.
