Emax Digital closes financing round

The Munich-based start-up helps retailers to improve their positioning on Amazon and has now raised 1.4 million euros.

Once working directly for Amazon, the founders of Emax Digital are now deciphering e-commerce patterns for the internet giant's customers to improve the placement of their products: Andreas Kleofas and Dominik Pietrowski founded Emax Digital in 2018, with Dimitri Dumonet joining them the following year. The Munich-based company has now raised 1.4 million euros in a seed financing round. Investors include High-Tech Gründerfonds and Bayern Kapital, as well as business angels Dirk Freytag and Arndt Groth.

"The interest on the part of customers to better understand Amazon and thus increase their sales is immense. Thanks to our investors, we can now meet the demand from brands even faster and grow," says Kleofas about the financing round. Emax Digital currently only serves Amazon, but in the long term the start-up's software should also be applicable to other marketplaces.

The Munich-based company generates recommendations for action explicitly for Amazon's Digital Retail Media advertising format. "Digital Retail Media is currently the fastest growing media segment. Amazon alone generated almost 16 billion US dollars in advertising revenue in 2020. 75% of all Amazon marketplace customers are also Amazon advertising customers," says business angel Arndt Groth, explaining his investment. "With the help of the AI-based emax digital platform and its smart reports, these customers are able to obtain detailed analyses and insights into their campaigns and competitors."
