Filics secures 13.5 million euros

The robotics startup Filics from Munich has closed a growth financing round of 13.5 million euros. The round is led by Sandwater, Alven, F-LOG Ventures and the Amazon Industrial Innovation Fund. Bayern Kapital, Capnamic, 10x Founders, business angel Andrei Danescu (Dexory) and Helmut Schmid, CCO at Filics and former CEO of Agilox, are also involved.
The funds will be used for the technological expansion of the Filics unit, a robotic solution for autonomous pallet handling, as well as for the preparation of the international rollout.
Autonomous robots for more space and productivity
Filics is developing particularly flat, autonomous robots that can manoeuvre Euro pallets and other load carriers weighing up to 1.2 tons independently, even in tight warehouses. The so-called Filics Unit consists of two omnidirectional robots that work together and enable space savings of up to 30%. In future versions for floor block storage, this figure is set to rise to as much as 66%.
The solution was originally designed at TUM and addresses the following challenges in the logistics sector: shortage of skilled workers, warehouse bottlenecks and rising energy prices.

International scaling and new areas of application planned
Filics plans to make its solution available for use in floor block warehouses by the end of 2025. Market entry in other European markets is planned for 2026. In the long term, the company is even planning fully autonomous truck loading in under five minutes.
This financing round marks the start of the next phase of our growth strategy. Demand is high - our technology is hitting the nerve of the industry.

Broad support from industry and venture capital
Existing supporters include Capnamic, 10x Founders, Bayern Kapital, as well as renowned industry giants such as Dr. Klaus-Dieter Rosenbach (ex-Jungheinrich), the ProGlove founders, and several industrial partners such as Bosch, DHL and the Nagel Group, where Filics is already active in test runs and initial deployments.
"Filics' technology has the potential to redefine warehouses - making them more efficient, space-saving and scalable," says Morten E. Iversen from Sandwater. Amazon also sees great potential in the solution for flexible, secure automation of load carriers.
