Fintech Pliant cooperates with Visa

The American payment service provider is launching a new corporate credit card in cooperation with Berlin-based start-up Pliant.
"The most exclusive card from Visa's credit card portfolio" is how the American financial group describes the Infinite corporate credit card, which it is now launching in Germany together with German fintech Pliant.
Pliant was only founded in May 2020 by Fabian Terner and Malte Rau and offers classic credit cards - not debit cards like many other fintechs. So the digital-only card can also be used to take out a loan. The Visa Infinite is primarily designed for small and medium-sized businesses and companies that have a very good credit rating and high credit card turnover. "Our vision is to make the credit card the most convenient and commercially attractive payment method for businesses worldwide," says Pliant CEO Rau. The offering includes accounting integration, reporting and an unlimited cashback program. Via an associated app, users can also take advantage of insurance packages or lounge offers at certain airports, among other things.
Rau and Terner have experience in the fintech sector: Terner's stations include Fincompare and Lendico, while Rau built up the start-up Geldspeicher and worked at Lendico and Auxmoney. Raffael Johnen, who helped build Auxmoney and who owns 15 percent of Pliant, also comes from there.
Visa wants to increasingly support small and medium-sized enterprises and therefore launch a credit card on the European market: "The Pliant-Infinite-Visa card is perfectly tailored to the target group and offers entrepreneurs many exclusive advantages that make it easier for them to run their business," says Albrecht Kiel, Regional Managing Director Central Europe at Visa.
