This year, Zipp Mobility is looking to launch in Ireland. The German start-up Free Now is supporting the Irish in this endeavour.

The German start-up Free Now is cooperating with Zipp Mobility. In the future, customers of the Irish start-up will be able to book e-scooters and e-bikes via the Free Now app. Zipp's market launch in Ireland is currently underway. Just recently, the country passed the new Road Traffic & Roads Bill, which allows the use of e-scooters on public land.

"We are delighted to be partnering with Irish micromobility provider Zipp. We have a shared goal to change and ultimately improve the way people in Ireland use everyday transport. It's a really exciting time for the industry with e-scooter legislation now in motion and we look forward to offering e-scooters on our app in 2022," says Free Now manager for Ireland Niall Carson at EU startups.

Free Now already existed since 2009 under the name mytaxi. In 2019, it became Free Now. The Hamburg-based startup is part of the ride-hailing joint venture between BMW and Daimler and offers an app that can be used to book vehicles of all kinds.
