Stories that should move - really

The Hamburg-based startup Tapster Media, which wants to make books a digital experience, has a new customer. Weltbild offers the "Lively Stories" in its online shop.

"Lively Story" is what founder Jasmin Wollesen calls her idea: every book is to be enriched by sounds, videos, images and vibrations on the mobile phone, making it "experienceable". The special storytelling of books is intended to encourage young people and children in particular to read. But can this work as a start-up?

Weltbild is apparently enthusiastic about the idea and is now offering the first "Lively Stories" in its online shop. "This new way of bringing books to life has convinced us," says Christian Sailer, CEO of Weltbild. "Especially before Christmas, it's an exciting idea to inspire young readers." Rumpelstiltskin and Rapunzel are currently downloadable for free as an experienceable story via the "Lively Story" app and the Weltbild online shop. Other books cost from 1.99 euros.

The founder of Tapster Media, Jasmin Wollesen, is also happy: "We have collected a lot of feedback from the entire book industry and with Weltbild and the first publishers and authors very strong partners at our side," she says.
