Stories that are meant to move - really

The Hamburg-based start-up Tapster Media, which aims to make books a digital experience, has a new customer. Weltbild is offering "Lively Stories" in its online store.
Founder Jasmin Wollesen calls her idea "Lively Story": each book is to be enriched by sounds, videos, images and vibrations on the cell phone, making it "tangible". The special storytelling of books is intended to encourage young people and children in particular to read. But can this work as a start-up?
Weltbild is obviously enthusiastic about the idea and is now offering the first "Lively Stories" in its online store. "This new way of bringing books to life has convinced us," says Christian Sailer, CEO of Weltbild. "It's an exciting idea to inspire young readers, especially before Christmas." Rumpelstiltskin and Rapunzel can currently be downloaded for free as a story that can be experienced via the "Lively Story" app and the Weltbild online store. Other books cost from 1.99 euros.
The founder of Tapster Media, Jasmin Wollesen, is also happy: "We have collected a lot of feedback from the entire book industry and have very strong partners at our side with Weltbild and the first publishers and authors," she says.
