The delivery service industry is gradually consolidating. With new financing, Gorillas now wants to become profitable.

Gorillas CEO Kağan Sümer revealed his plans for the current fiscal year to Bloomberg. According to the statement, the fast delivery service wants to raise another 700 million euros from investors for its further growth. It is not yet known when the financing round will be completed.

With the new financial resources, Gorillas wants to become profitable. Some of the fast delivery service's fulfillment centers are already generating operating profits, a spokeswoman tells Gründerszene. At its New York location, Gorillas is also expanding its business model to include a click-and-collect service.

Just last October, Gorillas raised a mega round of funding. The start-up received one billion US dollars from investors such as Tencent, Coatue, DST, Dragoneer and Atlantic Food Labs. US$235 million came from Delivery Hero. G Squared, Alanda Capital and Thrive Capital also joined in(we reported).
