Gorillas plans new financing of 700 million US dollars

The delivery service industry is gradually consolidating. Gorillas now wants to become profitable with new financing.
Gorillas CEO Kağan Sümer has revealed his plans for the current financial year to Bloomberg. Accordingly, the fast delivery service would like to raise a further 700 million euros from investors for its further growth. It is not yet known when the financing round will be completed.
Gorillas wants to use the new financial resources to become profitable. Some of the fast delivery service's fulfillment centers are already generating operating profits, a spokeswoman explained to Gründerszene. Gorillas is also expanding its business model at the New York location to include a click & collect service.
Gorillas only completed a mega financing round in October last year. The start-up received one billion US dollars from investors such as Tencent, Coatue, DST, Dragoneer and Atlantic Food Labs. 235 million US dollars came from Delivery Hero. G Squared, Alanda Capital and Thrive Capital also joined in(we reported).
