Heartbeat Medical wins CSS as investor

The start-up has developed a healthcare platform designed to provide medical staff with a better basis for decision-making.
Heartbeat Medical has gained a new investor: CSS, one of the most important insurers in Switzerland, has invested in the Berlin-based start-up via Swisshealth Ventures AG.
Heartbeat Medical is a leading provider of measurements and analyses of patient-reported outcomes (PROs), i.e. health outcomes that are documented directly by patients - and their linkage with clinical data. One of Heartbeat Medical's offerings is a digital platform that allows patients to be asked about their symptoms, recovery and general quality of life. In combination with clinical data, the software is intended to provide a decision-making basis for medical staff. The company also offers services in the area of remuneration models and quality assurance of service agreements.
Yannik Schreckenberger, CEO of Heartbeat Medical, is delighted with the investment. "The routine use of patient-reported outcomes is no longer only supported by healthcare providers and regional regulators, but now also by the largest health insurer in Switzerland, CSS," he says. "We are delighted to have the support of CSS as an insightful partner with strategic vision for the further development of quality-based care and reimbursement models."
Founded in 2014, the company operates from Berlin, Cologne and London. Among other things, the employees there take care of product development and support for over 250 centers, registries and research projects.
