Hellofresh apparently overcharged: Customers to cancel cooking box
A recall of a different kind: Hellofresh asked its customers on Monday to cancel their current cooking box by midnight to prevent supply bottlenecks.
That must have left some customers of the supplier Hellofresh wondering on Monday evening: As reported by Handelsblatt , they were informed by mail that they should cancel their order of a cooking box. The offer was only valid until midnight, in return they received a 10 euro voucher.
Once a week, Hellofresh delivers a ready-made box with ingredients and recipe in coordinated quantities to customers' homes - they only have to cook themselves. Over Christmas, however, the start-up now seems to have run into delivery bottlenecks. According to Handelsblatt, the mail to customers said: "With your help, we will ensure that capacities do not reach their limits at the turn of the year and that we can continue to offer our service satisfactorily in the future."
The listed company has not yet been able to close a financial year with a profit since it was founded nine years ago. This year, for the first time, should be a different story. In the third quarter of 2020 alone, the company made a profit of 74.6 million euros. In times of pandemic and curfew, Hellofresh has just the right offer for people at home.
